Your new Hollywood mirror has arrived and then comes the question: do you put it on your dressing table or hang it on the wall? Both work fine, but they work differently. Which mirrors can do both?

- LED full-length mirror Calyndor (160 × 40 cm): stand it freely or hang it on the wall, for a hotel-like look.
The compact Chantally mirrors are made to stand. The square 30 × 30 cm Chantally stands on a rotating stand and the 40 × 30 cm Chantally can be rotated and tilted horizontally or vertically. The cordless Claíre round LED mirror also stands on a base.
Choose the table if...
- You like to move things around: today on the dressing table, tomorrow on your desk or by the window.
- You rent and would rather not drill.

What to look for when hanging
The right height
Hang the mirror so that your face is in the centre of the glass when you are seated. First sit on your chair or stool and have someone hold the mirror against the wall at the right height. Only then mark the drill holes.
Your wall and the wall plugs
Check in advance what kind of wall you have, for example brick, concrete or plasterboard, and use wall plugs that suit it. If in doubt, ask at a DIY store. Always follow the manual supplied with your mirror.
A socket and cables
A Hollywood mirror needs power. The LED make-up mirrors come with an adapter in the box. So plan the spot near a socket and think about how to tidy away the cable.
What to look for when standing
- A stable, flat surface: place the mirror on a sturdy tabletop and not on the edge.
- Light straight from the front: place the mirror straight in front of you, so the light falls evenly on your face.
